Meet the Team
Ryker Van Nostrand – President & Founder
Ryker is a student-athlete at Gustavus Adolphus College, studying Health and Physical Education with a minor in Coaching. A lifelong basketball player, he continues his athletic career on the Gustavus basketball team and spends his summers coaching at a youth sports camp and coaching AAU with Minnesota Fury.
A graduate of Washburn High School, Ryker served as Co-President of the Unified Club and a 2-year basketball team captain, continuing to develop a passion for leadership and community involvement. He believes deeply in developing leadership in others and treating everyone with respect, values that guide everything he does. That passion carried into his work today – combining his love of sports, education, and service to found Assist For All Inc., driven by a simple goal: to help make the world a little better for kids and families who need it most.
Jamie Van Nostrand – Chair of the Board of Trustees
Jamie is a nonprofit leader with a background in fundraising, technology, and community engagement. She currently serves as Assistant Vice President for Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving at Carleton College, her Alma mater. Prior to this role, Jamie spent 15 years at the Minneapolis Institute of Art, and then several years consulting with nonprofits on fundraising strategy and technology. Jamie has a long history of volunteer and board service and is passionate about helping mission-driven organizations and the people they serve. She’s currently the Executive Board President of The Negative Space, a nonprofit focused on caregivers.
Yahya Yusuf – Secretary and Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees
Yahya Yusuf is a student-athlete at the University of Chicago studying Business Economics and Public Policy. As a first-generation college student, he is passionate about expanding access to education and mentorship for underrepresented students. Yahya currently serves as the Vice President of Education for BlackGen Capital at the University of Chicago, where he helps develop educational programming and resources for students interested in finance and investing. In addition to his academic pursuits, Yahya is a varsity football player and is actively involved in service and community engagement. He is committed to using his experiences in leadership, athletics, and education to create meaningful opportunities for others.
